Consecrated on 2 March 1886, St. Agnes church was the first church built for a public school mission. Clifton College had started the mission in the parish of St. Barnabas, Ashley Road, in 1875 by a committee of masters, Old Cliftonians and boys.  (Source: http://www.cliftoncollegeuk.com/ocs/history/stpaulsagnes/)

Notes

Baptist in St Agnes Church in 1951. 5 generations of my family lived at our family home at 105 Wellington Rd. St Agnes over a period of 50 years or more until 1970 when we had to move or the destruction of inner Bristol.
I was baptised in St Agnes Church in 1951. My father was born in our family home at 105 Wellington Rd. St Agnes in 1927. 5 generations of our family lived at this house for well over 50 years until the awful redevelopment of the area in 1970.
Very interested in the area of St Agnes.
