Pen and ink sketch by Samuel Loxton drawn in the early 20th century. The Bristol Central Library hold two versions of this image, but the original (A 50) does not show the painted sign identifying the building as the Mission for the Deaf & Dumb. The second image (shown here) is a print of the original sketch with a pasted on correction showing the signwriting; it is not known when or why the correction was made. The 'corrected' version is also inaccurate, and the building today still clearly displays the old signs but between the first and second floors, not between the ground and first floor as in this image.
